The smell of gunpowder will once again drift across the fields of the Feliciana’s when the 25th Annual Battle of Jackson Crossroads Civil War Reenactment takes place on April 23rd and 24th 2016 in Jackson, Louisiana. The event will be held on fields located on Hwy. 68 not far from the original battle site. The gates will open at 9:00am on Saturday with the main battle commencing at 2:00pm. On Sunday, the gates will reopen at 11:00 am and the battle will take place at 1:30pm.
Spectators are encouraged to come early and visit the campsites where you will “Step Back in Time” to a period of the 1860’s. While in camp be sure to visit “Sutlers Row” where you will find vintage as well as period military clothing stores of the era. You will also find unique specialty sutler stores.
While in Jackson you can also visit the Jackson Museum Complex as well as Centenary College. Be sure to stop by Milbank Historic House and Gift Shop, as well as Feliciana Folks. Your visit would not be complete without a visit to The Emporium and Southern Belle Station.
Spectator fees for the event are: $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for senior citizens (62 and older), and $4.00 for children, children 6 and younger are admitted free. Your ticket will be good for the whole day. We will have food concessions and facilities available. Put this event on your calendar now.
