Event Description:
The Port Hudson Staff and volunteers will commemo rate by re-enacting the Confederate occupation of Port Hudson. The staff members and volunteers will por tray a US Navy landing party from the ironclad USS Essex. They will simulate the destruction of supplies at the Port Hudson steamboat landing at the park's pond. A group of Confederate soldiers from the 4th Louisiana
·Infantry will re-create the capture of the members of the US 1:'lavy lang party. The park's large Confederate garnson flag will then be raised and the park's cannons will fire a salute.
