Port Hudson SHS ranger will conduct a tour of “The Devil’s Elbow.” This portion of the battlefield is outside of the park’s property and belongs to the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill. The tour will start at 10:00 am and leave the park and drive through “Old Port Hudson” along the old river bluffs to the Georgia-Pacific picnic pavilion. The tour will then proceed on foot to the Devil’s Elbow, which was defended in 1863 by the Confederate soldiers of Boone’s Louisiana Battery and Mile’s Louisiana Legion.
