Event Description:
This evening program commemorates Admiral Farragut’s March 14-15, 1863 naval attack on the Confederate river batteries at Port Hudson, a Port Hudson SHS ranger will lead the participates on a walk to Fort Desperate and share stories about paranormal phenomena that has taken place in and around the Port Hudson battlefield. The tour will return to the museum where the staff will conduct a special night firing of the site’s always popular 42-pounder cannon. The program then shifts to the site’s pond where a pyrotechnic demonstration will be done with the model gunboat fleet and the the USS Mississippi fights for her life.
